Dress
FormalAnd to the ladies — wear the dress you love but have never had the occasion for. This is the occasion. Just not in pink or white; see below.
Two gentle asks
Please, no pinkThe ballroom is dressed head to toe in it — you'd disappear into the drapes.
And no white or ivoryThe bride has called dibs.

Everything else is yours. Jewel tones, deep neutrals, black, gold, midnight blue — all wonderful.

Drinks
An alcohol-free celebrationWe won't be serving alcohol. There'll be mocktails, juices, coffee and tea flowing all evening.

Getting here
🚆
By train Three lines stop within walking distance. Whichever you take, follow signs towards Jalan Pinang.
MRT Kajang Line to Bukit Bintang — about 7 minutes' walk
LRT Kelana Jaya Line to KLCC — about 7 minutes' walk
Monorail Raja Chulan station — about 9 minutes' walk
🚗
By car There's underground parking beneath the Grand Hyatt — drive in from Jalan Pinang and follow the ramp down. Do give yourself a little extra time; the KLCC approach slows down on a Saturday evening.
📱
By Grab The simplest option. Set your destination to Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur and you'll be dropped at the main lobby entrance. Expect surge pricing around 6pm, so book a few minutes early.

A little guide to KL

Everything here is close to the hotel, for the days on either side of the wedding.

Download before you fly

Grab

Taxis, food delivery and groceries in one app. This is how everyone gets around KL — cheaper and easier than hailing a cab, with the fare fixed before you book.

Touch 'n Go eWallet

Malaysia's everyday wallet. Scan-to-pay works at hawker stalls, small shops and car parks where cards often don't. Worth setting up on arrival.

WhatsApp

How Malaysia communicates. Hotels, drivers and restaurants will all message you here rather than call.

Google Maps

Reliable across KL, including walking routes through the covered skybridges between the malls. Download the KL area offline before you land.

Klook

Day tours, attraction tickets and airport transfers, usually cheaper than at the door. Handy for Batu Caves trips.

Download these in Australia, but don't worry if Grab won't sign you in until you land — it often can't reach its servers outside Southeast Asia, and verification usually needs a local number. A Malaysian SIM or eSIM at KLIA sorts it in minutes.

Worth seeing
10 min walk

Petronas Twin Towers & KLCC Park

Go at golden hour, stay for the fountains once the towers light up.

Indoors

Aquaria KLCC

An oceanarium beneath the convention centre, with a 90-metre walk-through tunnel. An easy, cool hour.

Half day

Batu Caves

Limestone temple caves just outside the city. Best in the morning — most tours include hotel pickup.

What would get you on the dance floor?

Our band and DJ will actually read these, so be honest.

The one you'd be embarrassed to admit to. Those are the good ones.
